Senior PCB DesignerLocation: Woodstock, NY, US, 12498 Business Unit: Rotron PDTAs the Senior PCB Designer with AMETEK Rotron, you will play a key part in supporting engineering efforts by assisting in the design and development of detailed layouts of printed circuit boards. You will develop printed circuit board layouts based on input from both electrical and mechanical engineers, helping define overall functional requirements while working within the prescribed physical constraints. In this role you will be responsible for importing schematics generated by electrical engineers, as well as completing schematic drawings with minimal engineering assistance.

This will require a clear understanding of design intent and the ability to translate requirements into accurate PCB layouts. You will also be responsible for releasing the complete PCB assembly package, including fabrication drawings, assembly prints, and bills of materials, ensuring all documentation is complete and ready for production.Responsibilities:Review PCB layouts to ensure proper EMI, EMC and safety concerns are accounted forGenerate electrical schematics, drawings and 3D models using Altium PCB 3D and SolidWorksDesign through hole and surface mount PCB assemblies using 3D PCB layout toolUpdate hand drawn or PADS drawings, into change order systems or transfer to Altium PCBGood planning and organization skillsPrepare and release all required assembly and fabrication documentation, including 2D drawings and 3D modelsQualifications:Experienced reading schematics and mechanical assembly printsExperienced designing PTH and SMT circuit boardsExperienced using 3D PCB design and layout using Altium 3D or similar toolsDeveloped components, and managing library elements for electrical engineeringDocument assembly drawings with Altium and SolidWorks CAD softwareExperience developing PCB to meet IPC class 3 standardsWorking knowledge of military and commercial aerospace standardsExperience with generating and implementing engineering changes via engineering change ordersExperience integrating PCBAs into mechanical enclosuresA minimum of 8 years' experience in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design (Required)A minimum of 3 years' experience utilizing 3D PCB design tools.An associate's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent (Required)A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (A Plus)Any certifications such as IPC, CID, and REACH (A Plus)Experience with PADS (A Plus)Experience with SolidWorks drawings, modeling, and assemblies (A Plus)Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs.
