Key responsibilities include:Designing high-performance multilayer PCBs for aerospace, defence and industrial applicationsTranslating electrical and mechanical requirements into robust, manufacturable PCB layoutsPerforming component placement, constraint definition, routing and design optimisationSupporting signal integrity and power integrity considerations throughout the design processWorking closely with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing and test engineers to achieve optimum product performanceParticipating in design reviews and contributing technical input to architecture and implementation decisionsCreating fabrication, assembly and manufacturing documentationSupporting Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Test (DFT) activitiesEnsuring designs meet quality, reliability and compliance requirementsIdentifying opportunities for process improvement and engineering best practiceOur products incorporate a broad range of advanced technologies, including:High-speed digital interfacesDDR4 / DDR5 GDDR6PCI Express Gen3 / Gen4Gigabit EthernetHDI and sequential build PCB technologiesComplex multilayer architecturesHigh-speed signal routing and constraint-driven designWe're interested in engineers who combine strong technical PCB design skills with a practical engineering mindset and a passion for delivering high-quality products. Essential:Extensive experience designing complex PCBs in a commercial engineering environmentStrong understanding of PCB design principles and best practicesExperience with high-speed digital design and layout techniquesKnowledge of PCB fabrication, assembly and test requirementsFamiliarity with HDI technologies and multilayer PCB constructionExperience working within cross-functional engineering teamsAbility to communicate technical information effectivelyPreferred:Experience using Siemens EDA Xpedition tools, including: Xpedition Layout Xpedition Designer CES EDM FablinkExperience supporting signal integrity and power integrity analysisExperience working in aerospace, defence, embedded computing or other high-reliability industriesBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience. Typically 10+ years of PCB design experience involving complex, high-speed electronic products. Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.Work on technically challenging, market-leading products.
