This support is individualized and centered around work-related goals that focus on helping the consumer obtain the maximum level of independence within their job. The Job Coach must be a skilled communicator, empathetic listener, and excellent problem solver, with the ability to help clients achieve their desired goals. They carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: client rights, job coaching and regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities:Serve as a positive role model and coach, helping clients build problem-solving, decision-making, conflict-resolution, and independent living skills.Learn each client's needs and support them in meeting goals in their employment setting. Provide training, demonstrations, and guidance individually and in group sessions.Ability to work a flexible schedule according to the needs of the clients and employers.Teach and encourage clients to pursue their hopes, goals, and objectives through self-direction and effective decision-making.Monitor and document client behaviors in the workplace.Requirements:High school diploma/equivalent and/or relevant work or life experience.Valid Wisconsin driver's license, ability to meet agency driving standards, and proof of auto insurance.Ability to pass required Wisconsin Caregiver Background Checks and any applicable out-of-state checks.Reliable phone with voicemail and access to email.Education/Qualifications:Must possess a high school diploma/equivalent and/or related work/life experience.Must be at least 18 years of age.Must possess a valid WI driver's license, and ability to meet agency driving standards. Must provide proof of auto insurance.Must pass a periodic WI Caregiver Background Check including Department of Justice Criminal Record Checks, and/or that of previous states of residence.Knowledge of and ability to intervene appropriately in crisis prevention and de-escalation when necessary.Experience working with people who have physical and mental disabilities.
