Jira Platform Engineer (DevOps Engineer)Location: Washington, DC (Onsite)We are seeking an experienced Jira Platform Engineer to serve as the technical owner of an enterprise Jira SaaS environment hosted in a secure government cloud. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering, configuring, integrating, and optimizing the Jira platform while supporting enterprise-wide Agile transformation initiatives.This role will play a critical part in consolidating project management and collaboration tools by leading the migration from legacy Azure DevOps and GitLab environments to Jira SaaS. The successful candidate will work closely with Agile teams, platform engineers, infrastructure, security, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and automated solutions.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).3+ years of hands-on experience administering or engineering Jira (Cloud or Self-Hosted).Experience developing enterprise integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, and scripting.Strong knowledge of GitLab and ServiceNow integrations.Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript.Solid understanding of Agile methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.Experience migrating projects from Azure DevOps or similar platforms to Jira.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and documentation abilities.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with the Atlassian ecosystem, including Confluence, Bitbucket, and Atlassian Government Cloud.Experience working within DevSecOps or Platform Engineering environments.Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and SOX.Experience supporting government or highly regulated enterprise environments.Atlassian certifications (ACP-120, ACP-620, or equivalent) are highly desirable.
