To support mainframe modernization projects, the remote JCL Mainframe Migration Engineer will analyze, transform, and migrate legacy JCL-based batch processes to modern platforms such as Azure while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure performance stability and minimal disruption. Key Responsibilities: Analyze Control-M and/or Atomic schedules on the mainframe and perform maintenance and troubleshooting of JCL jobs Support the conversion of mainframe batch jobs (JCL) to PowerShell scripts for Azure and automate batch job configurations Collaborate with business stakeholders to clarify technical expectations and document business requirements for batch jobs Required Qualifications: Expertise in Mainframe JCL and job scheduling, particularly with Control-M Strong experience in PowerShell scripting and automation within Azure environments Familiarity with CICS, CA Ideal, and mainframe batch job concepts (JCL, GDG, PDS) Experience with migration projects from mainframe to cloud platforms Understanding of thread safety, locking mechanisms, and concurrency in scripting
