Java Full Stack

We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Developer for a 6-month contract role in the Atlanta, Georgia area. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week on site in Alpharetta. The engagement is expected to renew beyond the initial term.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build, optimize, and secure Java-based APIs hosted on Apache Server.
• Work with Relational and Graph databases for schema design, query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Implement business logic for approval workflows using a workflow engine such as Flowable or Activiti.
• Develop and maintain responsive web applications using React.
• Implement SSO authentication flows including SAML, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect.
• Integrate UI components with backend REST APIs and workflow services.
• Optimize UI performance, accessibility, and user experience.
• Use Splunk for log analysis, monitoring, alerting, and issue diagnosis.
• Perform performance tuning for both frontend and backend services.
• Collaborate with teams on deployments, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Utilize AI coding assistants (IDE-integrated tools such as GitHub Copilot or IntelliJ AI Assistant) to generate high-quality code, validate logic, detect code issues early, improve unit test coverage, and enhance productivity while adhering to secure coding standards.
• Continuously explore new AI development tools and best practices to strengthen code reliability and development workflows.

Qualifications

• Required
  • Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Spring Batch and Spring Security.
  • Hands-on experience with Relational and Graph databases.
  • Ability to build enterprise-grade applications with SSO authentication, workflow/approval engines, and strong monitoring/logging capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Splunk for monitoring and logging.
  • Experience working with AI-assisted development tools within IDEs.
  • Front-end development skills using React.
• Preferred
  • 10+ years of Java full stack development experience.
  • Identity and access management business knowledge.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Bitbucket Pipelines.
  • Knowledge of cloud environments including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Understanding of security best practices including API security, OWASP, and secure code practices.
  • Experience with Docker or containerized deployment environments.
