Compensation Range: $55,000-$70,000
Bonus Opportunity: 15% Annually
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift
Work Location: Marion, South Carolina
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Travel: Up to 20%
SUMMARY
The IT Technician provides end-user technical support and maintains information technology systems across North American operations. This role is responsible for supporting computer hardware, software, mobile devices, network infrastructure, cybersecurity initiatives, and user training while ensuring reliable and secure technology services for employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
IT Support & User Services
- Provide help desk support for hardware, software, networking, and connectivity issues through the company help desk ticketing system.
- Deploy, configure, and support laptops, desktops, and workstation devices with company-approved software and technology solutions.
- Support company-owned mobile devices, networked printers (MFPs), and VoIP phone systems.
- Assist with workstation deployment, user account setup, and access management in accordance with company standards.
Network & Infrastructure Support
- Coordinate with central IT operations teams to support networking equipment and infrastructure.
- Build Wi-Fi, monitor and maintain employee and guest wireless network connectivity.
- Partner with corporate IT staff and service providers to maximize network performance, reliability, and uptime.
- Support and administer systems related to building access and connected technologies.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Ensure network and endpoint security through deployment and support of cybersecurity tools, including endpoint protection, spam filtering, content filtering, and multi-factor authentication.
- Monitor and enforce corporate cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices.
- Provide regular cybersecurity awareness training and guidance to promote secure user behaviors.
- Identify, document, and escalate security risks, incidents, and compliance concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with corporate IT security, help desk, and operations teams to coordinate and implement strategic technology initiatives.
- Deploy & support company-owned mobile devices, networked printers (MFPs) and office VOIP phone systems.
- Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies, cybersecurity trends, and IT support best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve user experience, operational efficiency, and system reliability across the organization.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems, Active Directory, and basic networking.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to users with varying levels of technical experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and common IT support tools.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and quickly learn software, cybersecurity, and administrative systems.
- Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Vocational training, technical certifications, military IT training, or equivalent hands-on experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Previous experience in help desks, desktop support, networking, or information technology support preferred but not required.
- Experience supporting Windows environments, user accounts, and business technology systems preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Office Environment
- Ability to sit, stand, and work on a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively through phone, email, video conference, and in-person interactions across various time zones.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues both remotely and onsite.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and move equipment during workstation setup and maintenance.
- Ability to climb ladders or step stools to install, inspect, or maintain network and wireless or wired equipment.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work at offsite locations, including trade shows and remote facilities.
- Ability to fund travel & submit expense reports to be reimbursed by company. (Airfare is paid for upfront by employer)
- Must maintain reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Must demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, sound judgment, and customer-focused service while supporting employees and stakeholders.
