IT Tech Team Member / IT ArchitectAtlanta, Georgia, United StatesAbout the JobThe tax clearance compliance item is required at the time of submissions.Open to non-local candidates, must be willing to relocate and be onsite from day 1.Application Development Technical Support - (Contract to Hire)This is a technical support position supporting all aspects of the GenTax® COTS (Commercial Off-The-Shelf Software) application.This resource will provide technical support to the application development staff and management while interacting with existing network and database personnel.Technical team responsibilities:Provide technical representation on a project team from definition to deliverySpecific tasks include:Hardware specification and procurementSetup, configure and maintain n-tier environments, including: application servers, web servers, web services, database serversThe ability to interface equally well with various levels of technical personnel, subject matter experts, senior level stakeholders, developers, and project managersStrong technical development background in at least one relevant technology, along with commercial and technical experience developed in a fast-moving web environmentSQL Server or Oracle RDMS administration, including: high availability design and installations, performance analysis and tuning, backup and recovery, disaster recoveryExperience building high-performance, reliable, large-scale database systems in a complex, multi-tiered, distributed environmentVMWare installation, configuration, and supportWorking understanding of storage area networksSecurity specification and reviewsSQL optimization and application troubleshootingUpdate internal documentation as applicableDisaster recovery planning and implementationOn-call supportMinimum requirements:Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in the technology arenaAWS cloud experience5+ years experience in infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networkingGood working knowledge of OracleGood working knowledge of SQL ServerWorking knowledge of running applications Windows Servers - Infrastructure SupportSome basic knowledge of being able to troubleshoot network issuesSome knowledge as to how to request firewall changes needed for an applicationGood research and analysis abilityWillingness to be on-call and work outside the normal work scheduleAbility to research and work with Active Directory security groupsPreferred qualifications:Server administration experienceNetwork administration experienceExperience in MS Visual Basic.NetStrong analytical and communication skillsEnthusiasm and eagerness to learnWorking knowledge of software development methodologies, standards, coding best practices, Java/J2EE, XML, debugging and operational proceduresWorking knowledge of SQL Server or Oracle RDMS administrationOther notes:DOR will conduct a background check on all candidates considered for the position.
