The team builds critical systems and processes that safely accelerate our progress along the company's critical path.Job Description and Responsibilities:Neuralink is looking for a motivated IT Systems Administrator Intern to serve as a primary point of contact for end-user technical support across our Fremont campus. In this role, you will focus on Helpdesk T1 and T2 support, handling day-to-day tickets, device troubleshooting, and user onboarding and offboarding — while also having the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from full-time IT Systems Administrators on broader infrastructure and systems projects.Serve as a first point of contact for T1 and T2 Helpdesk support, triaging and resolving end-user tickets across macOS, Windows, and Linux environmentsAssist with device imaging, configuration, and deployment for new hire onboarding using MDM platforms (e.g., Jamf, Intune, or Kandji)Support user onboarding and offboarding processes including account provisioning and deprovisioning in identity platforms (Google Workspace, Okta, or Microsoft Entra)Troubleshoot L1 and L2 connectivity issues including Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic VLAN-related problems, escalating to FTE Systems Administrators as neededAssist with hardware asset management including inventory tracking, asset tagging, and lifecycle documentationSupport conference room AV equipment maintenance, including troubleshooting displays, video conferencing systems, and audio hardwareCreate and maintain Helpdesk documentation, runbooks, and knowledge base articles to support team efficiency and knowledge sharingCollaborate with FTE IT Systems Administrators on projects spanning endpoint management, identity and access management, SaaS administration, and securityRequired Qualifications:Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related fieldFoundational understanding of operating systems including macOS, Windows, or Linux (coursework or personal experience counts)Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCPStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support a diverse, non-technical user base with patience and empathyEagerness to learn, take initiative on Helpdesk tasks, and collaborate effectively with full-time IT team membersPreferred Qualifications:Prior Helpdesk, IT support, or customer-facing technical support experience (internship, part-time, or volunteer experience welcome)Familiarity with an MDM platform such as Jamf, Intune, or KandjiExperience with Google Workspace, Slack, or Zoom administrationBasic scripting knowledge in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating routine IT tasksFamiliarity with identity and access management concepts such as SSO, MFA, and user lifecycle managementExperience in a regulated environment or awareness of data privacy best practices (HIPAA, PII handling)Expected Compensation:The anticipated hourly rate for this position is listed below.
