System AdministratorFanCandy is seeking an experienced system administrator to join our team. The team goal is to provide highly efficient and low-downtime change management across a variety of large-scale customer facing services. The ideal candidate is a dedicated problem solver who can multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and demanding environment.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and manage maintenance procedures for FanCandy games.Coordinate and manage projects related to FanCandy games.Troubleshoot faulty services and servers.Work with vendors to replace defective hardware.Work with development teams to maintain test environments.Evaluate and / or recommend hardware and software purchases.Share in off-hour / on-call duties.RequirementsExceptional skill at managing projectsExceptional ability to troubleshoot issuesStrong interpersonal and communications skillsA good understanding of a Linux and Windows based operating systems, including system installation / configuration, file system concepts, resource monitoring, user administration, kernel tuning, package management, and process control / managementA good understanding of Linux and Windows network services--specifically the ability to install, configure, and troubleshoot TCP / IP-based services such as DHCP, DNS, SMTP, NFS, and LDAPA good understanding of Microsoft Windows Server, networking, IIS, and SQL ServerA minimum of 1 year of system administration experience with an emphasis in managing customer-facing applications and servicesAble to write purchase justifications, train users in complex topics, present to an internal audience, and interact positively with upper managementWilling and able to lift 75 lbs.Familiar with sports and/or gamingA passion for gamesPlusesExperience with asset management softwareExperience with scripting languagesA degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
