IT Specialist

Salary: $45,000 - 55,000 per year

• Foundational knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, wired and wireless networking, user accounts, and basic security practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot methodically, follow procedures, identify issues that need escalation, and learn unfamiliar systems.
• Clear communication, dependable follow-through, and a professional service approach with executives, staff, students, and external partners.
• Relevant IT coursework, technical training, hands-on experience, or an equivalent combination demonstrating readiness for Level 1 support.
• Familiarity with Ubiquiti UniFi Network switches, access points, PoE, VLANs, and basic wired and wireless connectivity troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of UniFi Protect cameras and recording systems, including troubleshooting connectivity and recording issues.
• Basic understanding of UniFi Access hubs, readers, credentials, and door access troubleshooting, with the ability to follow approved access permissions and escalate security-sensitive issues.
• Preferred: hands-on experience with UniFi Network, Protect, or Access; prior IT support experience; a related degree; CompTIA or Cisco certifications; or experience with education or aviation technology.
• Ability to walk long distances, use stairs, and navigate uneven terrain; ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
• Ability to commute to New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

• Support wired and Wi-Fi networks by troubleshooting LAN and WLAN connectivity and assisting with network maintenance, expansion, and equipment installation across campus areas.
• Set up and support employee accounts and access under approved procedures, prepare devices, and assist users with hardware and software.
• Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and replace workstations and other supported technology equipment.
• Provide first-line support for our network infrastructure, data storage servers, email, and phone systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot webcams, security camera networks, TV data terminals, graduation displays, public address systems, and UniFi Access equipment under approved procedures.
• Support flight department data systems and related user technology needs.
• Provide on-site and remote assistance across our supported locations, document issues and resolutions, coordinate with senior IT staff, and keep users informed.
