Please see below for full details:Job Notes: -- 6-month contract -- Onsite 5 days per week in Barker, NY 14012 -- Drug & Background required.Pay Rate = $35 w2 per hour + benefitsPosition Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized IT Project Coordinator to support the planning and execution of a large-scale data center build. This role will work closely with project managers, infrastructure engineers, vendors, and construction teams to ensure timelines, deliverables, and resources are aligned for successful project delivery.
The ideal candidate has strong coordination skills, experience in IT infrastructure environments, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced, cross-functional setting.Key Responsibilities:Support the Project Manager in planning, executing, and closing data center build projectsCoordinate across IT, network, facilities, and construction teams to ensure alignment on project milestonesTrack project timelines, deliverables, risks, and dependencies using tools such as Jira, MS Project, or SmartsheetSchedule and facilitate project meetings, including status updates, vendor calls, and stakeholder reviewsMaintain accurate project documentation including project plans, RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies), and status reportsAssist with procurement coordination for hardware, networking equipment, and infrastructure componentsWork with vendors and suppliers to track equipment delivery, installation schedules, and issue resolutionMonitor project budgets and assist with cost tracking and reportingEnsure adherence to project governance, change management, and compliance requirementsSupport testing, deployment, and commissioning activities for data center infrastructureIdentify and escalate risks or delays to project leadership proactivelyRequired Qualifications:2–5 years of experience in project coordination or project support rolesExperience working in data center environmentsKnowledge of data center components (servers, racks, power, cooling, network equipment)Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesExcellent communication and stakeholder coordination skillsProficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Smartsheet, Excel)Preferred Qualifications:Experience supporting data center builds, migrations, or infrastructure deploymentsUnderstanding of ITIL processes or change management frameworksPMP, CAPM, or similar project management certification (or working toward certification)Experience working with vendors and third-party contractorsKey Skills:Project coordination & schedulingStakeholder communicationRisk and issue trackingVendor coordinationDocumentation and reportingAttention to detail and problem-solvingWhy Work with Merge IT?
