Software EngineerWe are looking for a Software Engineer to work within our Upstream Oil & Gas Business. This role will report to the Center of Excellence Team. In this role, you will work closely with our team to develop and execute on projects that will drive operational excellence and cost reduction, while helping us achieve more consistent results.
You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that automate and optimize our processes, and you will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure that your solutions meet their needs.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement testable, performant, easily maintained systemsCollaborate with business stakeholders to help define software requirements and needsDocument and maintain software functionalityTroubleshoot and upgrade existing production systemsOrganize code reviews and develop best coding practicesArchitect and write efficient, well documented, and highly readable codeRequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent engineering field2-5 years’ experience in software developmentLanguages: Python, SQL, ReactFull-time experience with Python on large-scale projectsRelational/Non-relation databases experienceFamiliar with Continuous Integration and Continuous DeploymentExperience with source code control systems, preferably Git & GitHubEnsure that technical software development process is followed on the project, familiar with industry best practices for software development.PreferredAWS/Cloud experienceOil & Gas experienceExposure to MicroservicesDocker Container/Kubernetes experienceData Science/Machine Learning experienceData Engineering experienceProjectsThe team is working on an internal software package to help manage drilling operations. This software is built in AWS, mostly using Lambdas and Python.
