IT Principal Project Manager

Position: IT Principal Project Manager

Compensation: $ 60 - 70 /hour, depending on experience

Location: Garner, North Carolina

Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled IT Principal Project Manager to join their team!

This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a seasoned project leader who thrives in enterprise environments. You’ll guide strategic IT and business initiatives from concept through delivery, helping align project outcomes with business goals. This role offers the chance to make a visible impact on complex, cross-functional work while partnering with a collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Lead enterprise-wide IT and business projects from charter to completion
• Define scope, requirements, timelines, and delivery plans
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and escalation paths
• Oversee vendor partnerships, contracts, and project budgets
• Build clear dashboards, reports, and status updates
• Communicate effectively with business, technical, and executive stakeholders
• Support system selection and implementation planning
• Drive infrastructure, application, cloud, and integration initiatives
• Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of IT or technical project management experience
• PMP or another recognized project management certification
• Experience leading complex, cross-functional enterprise projects
• Strong background in business process development and stakeholder alignment
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and Smartsheet
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using AI in project management tools or processes

Nice to Have Skills & Experience:

• Experience with Microsoft systems
• Strong understanding of risk assessment practices
• Experience tracking project budgets and financials
• Background in manufacturing environments
• Experience with ERP, MES, or similar systems
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
• Knowledge of ITIL, Lean, or Six Sigma
• Experience supporting process improvement or value stream mapping
