Software Engineer - SplunkLocation- Remote then Eden Prairie MNThis role is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive monitoring ensuring supportability, availability and performance of high priority OptumRx registered serrvices/applications. This Performance Management Engineer position will be responsible for primarily SPLUNK, Dynatrace, but will also be involved with Zabbix, Dynatrace Synthetic, Real User Monitoring, and SiteScope monitoring for Workers CompOptumRx Monitoring Center of Excellence (CoE) Onshore/Offshore team size is 12 - 15Top 5-10 Responsibilities for this position:Provide day-to-day support on maintaining OptumRx Splunk implementation (automated reports, alerts, dashboards)Be able to assist as needed in post OptumRx War Room support using Splunk to perform analysis and custom alerting or dashboards as neededEngage and build relationships with application teams to resolve any usability issues reportedDevelop and deploy monitoring for ensuring OptumRx applications reliability and stability (infrastructure health; Disk usage, CPU/Memory usage, Performance)Develop reports for OptumRx applications as requested to support Peak SeasonIdentify opportunities for application teams to customize information providing optimal business viewsEnsure Splunk Universal Forwarder is up and running on all the identified OptumRx Application serversWork with Splunk Support to resolve any issues as needed to support OptumRx applications.Thoroughly document any procedures to support Splunk deployments for OptumRxWrite scripts to automate Splunk reporting as neededSoftware tools/skills needed to perform these daily responsibilities:Professional communication skills both verbal and writtenProject management/Agile experience is desiredExperience with monitoring products such as Splunk, Dynatrace, New Relic, Zabbix, SiteScopeExperience with scripting in Perl, PowerShell, Unix Shell, Batch, etc.Experience with Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) disciplines and Technical Operations best practicesFamiliarity with business applications which may use the following:Operating SystemsSolaris, AIXWindowsUnix/LinuxMainframeDatabaseOracle, MS SQL Server, UDB/DB2, SybaseApplication / Middle TierIBM WebSphere Application Server, Apache, IIS, ASP.NET, IBM WebSphere MQ, TCP/IPSOAP and REST APIsMust-have skills/attributes:2 years hands-on experience in Splunk1 year experience in using configuration management solutions such as Chef, Puppet or Ansible1 year experience in a software development or software support roleShell scripting and/or Programming skill in any languageProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslySupport experience in a large enterprise environmentNice to have skills/attributes:Experience in APM/Monitoring tools (New Relic, Dynatrace, DC RUM)Minimum 1-2 years Administering Unix/Linux and/or WindowsExperience in supporting Application Servers (WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Tomcat)Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)Health care industry experienceWork to be performed remotely to start and then Eden Prairie, MNWork hours: 8am - 5pm CST
