Overview
The Associate Director of the Audio-Visual services team has overall ownership for all aspects of the design, engineering, deployment, installation and operational management of audio-visual services and associated infrastructure throughout the campus – including classrooms and administrative conference rooms. Primary responsibilities include:
Leadership
- Manage all aspects of audio-visual systems design and engineering projects - from planning and design through project completion using industry best practices.
- Accountability for audio-visual system design, engineering and integration - including coordination with University facilities resources and ITS service providers, outside vendors and related trades to ensure projects are completed in adherence to established budgets, timelines and technical standards.
Strategic
- Develop and maintain the roadmap for audio-visual systems and management throughout the entire campus environment – including small-to-large classrooms and administrative spaces.
- Work closely with instructors, academic technologists, and other colleagues to continually develop and improve integration techniques in support of in-person and remote teaching and learning.
Operations
- Monitor and distribute work from tickets originating from the University’s ServiceNow platform – including dispatching the technician staff – in accordance with the University’s service level agreements.
- Manage the process for final system commissioning – including test-and-turn-up, training and sign-off acceptance to customers and tier one support teams.
Administration
- Fully document project timeline, technical requirements, labor resources, project payables and receivables, inventory requirements and prepare maintenance costs for installed systems.
- Review and approve AV System Design and Engineering shop drawings, touch panel layout and programming submittals.
- Ensure that AV work is installed according to project requirements, best practices and University standards.
- Coordinate and document the audio-visual bid process - including Requests for Proposal development, awards and procurement administration.
- Develop and distribute communications relevant to the service, for routine and emergency work.
- Maintain inventory in accordance with ITS warehouse management process.
- Manage personnel – including management and bargaining unit members – in accordance with University policy and ITS goals and objectives.

- Experience coordinating and configuring enterprise AV networks including demonstrable experience deploying subnets, VLANs, QoS, AVoIP and other network-based AV principles.
