IT & Software Developer

Location: Chicago, IL (on-site) Type: Full-time, salaried Reports to: CTO

Sharprint is a 40-year-old Chicago decorated apparel manufacturer with about 120 employees. We serve promotional products distributors and national brands with screen print, embroidery, and digital decoration.

We're hiring an IT & Software Developer to own technology across our facility. The role covers anything from development work to managing servers and backups to supporting users in the office and on the production floor.

You'll report to our CTO and work alongside our development team, with real ownership over how technology is run here.

One person, one technology function. On a given day you might ship a feature, restore a backup, and get a workstation back online.

• Support about 120 users with hardware, software, accounts, and access
• Manage servers, backups, and recovery
• Run the network, Wi-Fi, firewall, and security patching
• Install and maintain workstations, printers, and equipment across the office and production floor
• Administer user accounts, SaaS tools, onboarding, and offboarding
• Manage IT vendors, hardware inventory, and licenses
• Document systems and procedures

• Build and maintain internal applications and tools with our development team
• Build integrations using REST APIs
• Connect equipment and devices to internal systems
• Write SQL to report on and troubleshoot business data
• Work in Git with code review and shared standards
• Turn day-to-day operational needs into working software

• 3–5 years of hands-on IT experience supporting a business of 50+ users
• Working knowledge of networking (switching, Wi-Fi, firewalls, VPN, DNS/DHCP) and Windows/Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace administration
• Comfort installing and troubleshooting physical hardware, including on a production floor
• Professional or substantial project experience in at least one modern language: JavaScript/TypeScript or Python
• Experience building against or consuming REST APIs
• Solid SQL: writing queries, joins, and basic schema work
• Daily use of Git
• Clear communicator with non-technical coworkers; patient under pressure when something is down

• Experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environments
• Exposure to ERP or order management systems
• Integrating devices with software: barcode scanners, label printers, RFID, IoT, or shop-floor terminals
• Cloud and DevOps basics (hosting, CI/CD, monitoring)
• Endpoint management, MDM, or security tooling experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish

• Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year, based on experience

• Paid time off: 5 days after 3 months, 5 more days after 6 months, then 10 days per year going forward
