ISSE- Cyber Security EngineerAn opportunity is available for an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join a lead systems integrator team. The ISSE will be responsible for designing and engineering secure, cloud-ready platforms, implementing Zero Trust–aligned controls, and automating cyber platform configuration and compliance.

The role involves building guardrails to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission systems and hardening the cybersecurity posture of information systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement security architectures and platform guardrails for mission systems across compute, network, identity, and data planes, aligned to Zero Trust principles.Engineer platform hardening and baselines for Linux/Windows hosts, container/Kubernetes clusters, and cloud services; automate configuration and drift detection via Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and policy-as-code.Implement and validate STIG/SRG requirements through automated checks and CI/CD gates.Develop Security Test Procedures (STPs) and automated security tests in CI/CD; support assessment and authorization by producing technical evidence from engineering telemetry.Build detection and response integrations and tune signals with engineering teams to accelerate incident triage.Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments and engineer scalable, repeatable remediations.Collaborate with platform engineers and mission owners to address risk through architecture choices and bring systems to ATO readiness.Engineer identity and access controls across applications and clusters, enforcing least privilege and just-in-time access.Establish telemetry and compliance automation to monitor systems for evolving threats and misconfigurations.Read and interpret dataflow and network diagrams, producing architecture decision records and concise engineering documentation.Required QualificationsClearance: Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret level Security Clearance as a condition or continuation of employment.Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or IT Engineering.Experience: 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity with an emphasis on security engineering, architecture, and platform hardening.Skills: A background in systems and security engineering (Linux/Windows, containers/Kubernetes, networking, identity, and cloud), experience architecting security patterns, and automating enforcement (Terraform/Ansible, Python/PowerShell/Bash).Preferred QualificationsCurrent certification such as CASP+, CCNP Security, CISSP, CISA, or CCSP.Hands-on engineering experience with host and container hardening, Kubernetes security, and cloud platform security.Moderate scripting proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.Experience working with cross-functional engineering and security teams.Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.Compensation & BenefitsThe anticipated pay range for this position is $70.00/hr to $100.00/hr.
