LPAR installation, configuration, and virtualization. Firmware upgrade of servers, HMCs and update BIOS. Installation of cumulative, Group PTFs, license keys, and software licensed programs.
Experience in Backup and Recovery Media Services (BRMS). Knowledge of external disk addition, removal, and rebuild.
Experience on device configuration, line, optical connections.
Experience in server migrations identify the actions required to handle error messages and system reference codes. HMC handling, hardware related issues (Tape library, Disk failure etc.) backup issues, distribution queue errors. Maintenance activity in the Power systems to replace any H/W or LPAR, memory addition and upgrade activity. Disaster recovery planning and execution. Knowledge and experience on performance management, capacity management.
Experience with Change, Incident, and Problem management process.
Experience in iSeries/Power series system refresh.
