This position works in close collaboration with the agency's Quality Improvement (QI) team, but focuses primarily on the technical and analytical side—building SQL queries, validating performance metrics, and developing reports that identify gaps in care and documentation. Using the NextGen Population Health platform (formerly EagleDream), the engineer translates clinical and regulatory quality measures into actionable logic and dashboards that help frontline staff and leadership monitor compliance and improve outcomes.In addition to data development, this role supports clinical and operational teams in designing workflows that resolve care gaps, improve documentation, and meet reporting standards such as UDS, HEDIS, and payer-based programs. The ideal candidate combines strong SQL and data modeling skills with an understanding of healthcare operations and a passion for transforming raw data into meaningful action.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop and validate SQL-based logic to support the calculation and tracking of clinical quality measures (e.g., UDS, HEDIS, CMS) within the population health platformCollaborate with clinical teams to design workflows that improve provider compliance with quality measures and care gap resolutionMonitor and troubleshoot data pipelines feeding the population health platform, including resolving discrepancies between EHR and reporting outputTranslate performance metrics into technical specifications for reporting and EHR promptsAssist in the creation of dashboards, alerts, and patient lists to support proactive care outreachStay up to date with payer requirements and industry standards for quality reporting and interoperability (e.g., FHIR, NCQA)Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assignedSpecial AttributesStrong knowledge of clinical quality reporting standards and population health frameworksAbility to analyze, interpret, and validate health data from diverse sourcesFamiliarity with electronic health record systems (NextGen preferred)Strong SQL skills and comfort working in structured data environmentsQualification RequirementsAbility to interpret technical specifications for quality measures (e.g., UDS, HEDIS, MIPS)Strong communication skills to collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical teamsComfort with clinical workflows and aligning data tools to frontline care practicesProficiency with relational databases and performance measure developmentEducation and/or ExperienceBachelor's degree in Public Health, Data Science, Health Informatics, or a related field preferredAt least 2 years of experience in population health, EHR data reporting, or clinical analyticsExperience with SQL and healthcare quality reporting systems requiredExperience with NextGen Population Health or similar platforms strongly preferred
