Job Summary

Responsible for providing quality patient care while performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures safely while operating MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.

Essential Functions

  • Scan patients properly, selecting correct technical factors and fully understanding nuclear medicine physics to operate equipment at optimal settings for quality procedures
  • Prepare patients for procedures, including transporting, transferring, immobilizing, and positioning
  • Explain procedures to patients considering physical and emotional needs
  • Record images as directed for radiologist interpretation
  • Maintain pertinent records
  • Maintain required documentation regarding radioactive materials, both upon receipt and prior to administration

Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Imaging required. Experience in lieu of a degree: No.

Licenses and Credentials:

  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT/ARRT‑N) – Preferred
  • Radiologic Technologist or Technician (Nuclear Medicine) – State License – Preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – Preferred

Experience

MRI Tech experience with multiple patient populations – 2–3 years required.
