Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Select, measure, cut, and join metals to specifications
- Prepare metals and surfaces for safe and effective assembly
- Perform welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
- Inspect completed welds for strength and quality
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications accurately
- Follow verbal and written instructions
- Assist in training and mentoring other welding team members
- Clean and maintain welding equipment and tools
- Troubleshoot welding and fabrication issues as needed
- Read a tape measure and use basic hand tools (squares, hammer, chisel, etc.)
- Load parts into jigs and fixtures
- Operate forklifts and other machinery to move materials
- Follow all welding safety guidelines and procedures
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure
- Experience with MIG welding, layout, and fit-up
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Must be able to produce quality welds (no cold lap or undercut)
- Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, welders, grinders, air tools, and cranes
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a team
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated
- Welding certification is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs
- Capable of welding in various positions
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Indoor and outdoor work conditions
- Exposure to loud noise (hearing protection required)
