Iowa Licensed Assistant Controller

Partnering with the Controller, the full-time Iowa Licensed Assistant Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting, banking, and treasury operations, manage financial reporting and budgeting processes, and lead initiatives to improve accounting workflows in a remote environment. Key responsibilities: Lead the accounting and financial close process, ensuring compliance with GAAP and statutory regulations Coordinate the preparation of audited financial statements and regulatory reports, and manage tax reporting and compliance Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation, enhancing accounting policies and procedures Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field Ten years of progressive leadership experience in accounting and/or finance Prior experience in the life insurance industry with knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting CPA designation or CPA eligibility preferred Advanced knowledge of financial planning, corporate taxes, and internal controls
