Investor Relationship Manager
Investor Relations · In Office at Boyce Plaza · Reports to Alex Orosz, Vice President, Investor Relations
Is This You...
- Someone who has owned a book of clients, kept them, grown what they do with you, and can show the retention and the referrals that came out of it?
- A relationship builder who is just as comfortable calling a stranger who filled out a form as sitting across from a family that has trusted us for years?
- Comfortable being judged on four numbers, retention, referrals, new investors from your own network and leads closed, not on how busy you were?
- Someone whose phone is full of people who would take your call, and who keeps every conversation written down the same day?
- Energized by helping Pittsburghers put their money to work in Pittsburgh, with a company that intends to raise the most capital in its history next year?
About The Role
SteelPoint Capital Holdings is a Pittsburgh based private capital platform. We raise capital from investors and put it to work through Local First Lending, our real estate portfolio, CityLife, and the entrepreneurs we back. We run on EOS. In 2027 we launch a new investment fund open to more Pittsburghers, and we intend to become the most recognized business builders in the city.
The Investor Relationship Manager reports to Alex Orosz, Vice President, Investor Relations. Alex owns
the investor capital and relations team, with Pete Garretson running investor operations and this seat
owning relationships. You own a book of investors: the people already with us who are assigned to you,and every new investor you bring in. Your job is to keep them, grow what they do with us, turn them into referral sources, bring in new investors from your own network, and close the new leads our
marketing team generates. Almost every investor we have came to us through a relationship. This seat
exists to build more of them, on purpose, with a number on it.
You are the first person in this seat. As the investor count grows we add more managers, each with a
book, and the person who built the first one shapes how the rest of the team works. TJ Bencho, our
partner and closer, runs his own lane beside you; Rob Moss, Growth Marketing Manager, produces the
leads you close and tells you which ones converted; Kevin Rombach, our chief financial officer, is
available for the institutional close.
Where the seat goes next is up to the person in it. A manager who grows a book well is the first person
considered to lead the managers who come after.
What You'll Own
Retention and Growth of Your Book
- Know every investor in your book:
- what they invested, when it matures, what they care about, who they are. A touchpoint cadence for each one, logged in our customer relationship system the same day.
- Renewals handled early, upsizes and reinvestment asked for at the right moment, and every maturity in your book worked before it arrives. Retention and capital added are your first number.
- Investor rounds, dinners, Duquesne nights and the Christmas party are your relationship tools.
- You build the guest lists with Alex and follow up within 48 hours.
Referrals
- Every investor in your book knows how to refer and is asked, in a way that fits the relationship.
- Referrals are measured by count and by dollars, and recognized out loud.
- Every referral gets a call within 24 hours and a clear next step, and the referrer hears what happened.
New Investors From Your Network and From Marketing
- Bring in new investors from the relationships you already have. We hire for the network you walk in with and the judgment to use it well.
- Every lead marketing generates, from ads, the website, the newsletter or the webinar, comes to you. You call within 24 hours, qualify, meet, and close with Alex or with Kevin on the institutional conversations.
- Hold first meetings every week, log every one the same day, and report what converted so Rob can produce more of it.
The Record and the Rules
- Every conversation in the customer relationship system the day it happens, with the next step and the date. Pete and Alex can see the whole book at any time.
- Offering documents go out only after accredited status is verified. You never promise a return, compare us to any market or create urgency. Securities counsel sets the rules; you follow them without exception.
Who You Are
- You have done it. You have owned a book of clients or investors, kept them, grown what they did with you and produced referrals, and you can show the numbers. Wealth management, private banking, insurance, commercial lending or a sales seat built on long relationships are the usual backgrounds. We care less about how many years and more about what you kept and grew.
- You walk in with a network. People in Pittsburgh who have capital, trust you, and would take your call.
- You are warm and you are organized. The record is complete, the follow up happens, and the investor never has to chase you.
- You close without pressure. You can take a stranger from a form to a funded investment by
- earning trust, not by pushing.
- You are comfortable with investments and the rules around them, or you learn fast and take them seriously.
- You bring drive with care. Predictive Index profiles such as Persuader, Promoter or Captain with strong follow through are typical of people who thrive in this seat.
- You are comfortable in a company that runs on EOS, working with a visionary founder and a partner who closes, pushing back when needed and executing fast once the call is made.
- People who thrive here often come from a financial advisor or private banker seat where they built and kept a book, a relationship manager seat at a lender or insurer, or a sales role in a trust business where referrals were the main source of growth and the numbers proved it.
Why Join Us
- You will own real relationships with real investors in a growing private capital platform, and the number you own is one the whole company watches.• Your work ties directly to the biggest capital raise in our history and to the launch of a new investment fund open to more Pittsburghers.
- You inherit real momentum: an investor base built on referrals, a marketing team that produces leads, a founder and a partner who open doors, and an operations manager who handles the paperwork so you can handle the people.
- A clear book, four clear numbers, and a company that runs on EOS.
- Health, dental and vision benefits, paid time off and a team that will have your back.
Compensation
Base salary based on experience and the network you bring, plus a quarterly performance bonus tied to the four objectives of the seat: retention and growth of your book, referrals, new investors from your network and marketing leads closed, and a bonus tied to the capital plan. Every dollar is a salaried employee bonus on activity, quality and company results, never a percentage of capital raised. The full plan is shared during the interview process.
Our Core Values
Let's Go!: Action, action, action. Progress over perfection. Focus on priorities.
Extreme Ownership: Say it, do it. Learn fast, fix faster. Results matter, always.
We Got Your Back: 1+1 > 2. Serve instead of being served. Thoughtfully challenge.
Lead with Heart: Respect, care, and compassion. Authentic and genuine. Contagious positivity.
If you have ever kept a client for a decade, been the first call when they had money to place, and had
them send their brother-in-law to you without being asked, we want to meet you.
This is not a seat for someone who wants to process investors. This is the seat for someone who wants to know them, keep them, grow them and bring their friends.
Experience
- A record of owning and growing a book of clients or investors, shown in retention, growth and referrals.
- An existing network of people with capital who trust you.
- Hands on with a customer relationship system and disciplined about the record.
- A degree is not required. Results are. Securities licensing is not required for this seat; counsel sets what you can and cannot do.
