This is an outstanding opportunity to work on sophisticated registered fund and business development company matters within a nationally recognized investment management practice.The ideal candidate will have experience advising on 1940 Act registered funds and business development company matters at a leading law firm.Key ResponsibilitiesAdvise clients on the structuring, offering, operation, financing, and regulation of registered investment companiesWork on matters involving closed-end funds, mutual funds, ETFs, and business development companiesCounsel boards of directors on corporate governance and regulatory mattersAssist with innovative fund structures, leveraging strategies, rights offerings, and related transactionsCollaborate with M&A teams on 1940 Act issues arising in asset manager transactionsDraft and review offering materials, fund documentation, and regulatory filingsQualificationsApproximately 3–5 years of investment management experience at a major law firmStrong experience with 1940 Act registered funds and business development companies requiredExperience within the investment management practice group of a peer firm strongly preferredExcellent analytical, drafting, and communication skillsStrong academic credentialsAbility to manage sophisticated matters in a collaborative environmentAdmission to the Illinois Bar or eligibility to waive inWhy ApplyThis is an opportunity to join one of the leading Investment Management practices in the market, advising prominent sponsors, funds, and financial institutions on cutting-edge regulatory and transactional matters.
