Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President to join our Media & Communications team, offering an exceptional opportunity to contribute to high‑profile transactions and drive growth within a leading financial institution.

Job Summary

As a seasoned Media & Communications Investment Banking professional, you will develop strong relationships with corporate and financial institution clients and work across different products. You will work on deals and transactions across the spectrum of our banking products, including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, loans, and equity capital and debt capital raises.

Job Responsibilities

• Act as the primary day‑to‑day client point of contact and lead banker on deals
• Review and coordinate the analytical work of junior bankers to move marketing/execution processes forward
• Refine marketing/execution materials for maximum client impact
• Oversee the creation of financial projection models, maintained by the media and communications industry team in coordination with M&A partners
• Identify and manage all risks in a given deal
• Liaise with other internal and external parties on transactions (e.g., product partners, lawyers, accountants, counterparties)
• Lead client negotiations, Q&A processes, and management presentations
• Serve as sector captain for at least one media and/or communications sub-vertical, including monthly newsletter, sector trends, and valuation reference metrics
• Establish relationships with peers at corporate clients and prospects, as well as private equity sponsors and other institutional investment firms
• Sourcing new deal opportunities in coordination with senior bankers

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Prior work experience in an investment banking front‑office role, preferably at the Senior Associate or Vice President level at a money center or boutique investment bank
• Experience training junior bankers
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas concisely and defend their validity
• Very strong quantitative and analytical skills (including Excel modelling and valuation work)
• Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines, and to synthesize large amounts of information and develop innovative solutions
• Adaptability, able to manage projects independently and ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team
• Comfortable interacting with clients in a professional and mature manner
• Excellent understanding of financial, legal, and reputational risks facing large integrated investment banks in today’s environment
