The company is targeting $50 billion in annual revenue within the next decade through accretive acquisitions and organic growth.The Inventory Control – Purchasing Agent is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy while supporting purchasing and supply chain operations across warehouse, yard, manufacturing, and distribution environments.

This role manages inventory levels, purchase orders, vendor coordination, receiving activities, and inventory reporting to ensure materials are available to support customer demand and operational efficiency. Working closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, Sales, Production, Quality, and Operations teams, the Inventory Control & Purchasing Specialist helps optimize inventory investment, improve procurement processes, and maintain accurate inventory systems.This is an on-site M-F position at our Aurora, CO office.Inventory ControlMaintain accurate inventory counts through cycle counts, audits, and physical inventory processesMonitor inventory movement, adjustments, and discrepancies within inventory management systemsInvestigate and resolve inventory variances to maintain system accuracyMonitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, excess inventory, and replenishment needsMaintain accurate inventory records through physical counts and electronic inventory systemsCoordinate inventory transfers between branches and investigate transfer discrepanciesAnalyze inventory reports to identify slow-moving inventory, obsolete stock, and inventory optimization opportunitiesContinuously improve inventory control procedures to increase efficiency and reduce wastePurchasing & ProcurementCreate, process, and manage purchase orders to support operational and customer requirementsTrack inbound deliveries and monitor supplier performanceCoordinate purchasing activities with warehouse, production, sales, and operations teamsSource products and materials as required to meet customer and business needsMonitor supplier lead times, pricing, and product availabilityPrepare purchasing reports and analyze purchasing trendsAssist with procurement planning and inventory replenishment strategiesVendor ManagementBuild and maintain positive relationships with vendors and supplier representativesCoordinate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, delivery schedules, and product informationResolve purchasing discrepancies, shipment issues, and vendor invoicing concernsParticipate in supplier meetings and purchasing reviewsCollaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and payment issuesReceiving & Warehouse SupportVerify incoming shipments for quantity, condition, quality, and accuracyCoordinate receiving activities with warehouse and yard personnelAssist with staging, storage, and organization of incoming inventorySupport inventory organization and warehouse efficiency initiativesEnsure inventory is properly labeled, stored, and maintained according to company standardsSystems & ReportingMaintain accurate purchasing and inventory transactions within ERP systemsGenerate inventory, purchasing, and operational reports as requiredAnalyze inventory performance and recommend improvementsMaintain organized purchasing and inventory documentationSupport audits, inventory reconciliations, and operational reviewsTeam CollaborationPartner with Purchasing, Warehouse, Sales, Production, Quality, Project Management, and Operations teams to support business objectivesAssist sales teams with special-order materials and product sourcingSupport continuous improvement initiatives that enhance inventory management and procurement processesPerform additional duties as assignedWhat you'll bring:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesStrong attention to detail and commitment to inventory accuracyStrong communication and relationship-building skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independently while collaborating across departmentsCustomer-focused mindset with strong operational awarenessBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field preferred; equivalent experience consideredMinimum 3 years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, supply chain, warehouse operations, or distributionExperience with ERP systems, purchasing software, and inventory management systemsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly ExcelExperience working with building materials, steel, rebar, manufacturing, or industrial products preferredCPIM, CSCP, or related supply chain certification is a plusExperience using BisTrack or comparable ERP software preferredCombination of office, warehouse, yard, and manufacturing environmentsFrequent interaction with vendors, warehouse personnel, production teams, sales, and operationsMore than 50% of the workday may be spent supporting warehouse, inventory, or production activitiesAbility to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout operational facilitiesOccasional lifting of materials or inventory items up to 50 poundsExposure to warehouse equipment, manufacturing operations, and varying weather conditions when working in outdoor storage areasAbility to wear required PPE when entering warehouse, production, or yard environmentsOccasional travel between facilities or vendor locations may be requiredWhat you'll earn:Health Care BenefitsPaid Time OffBenefits for union-represented roles are determined by the applicable collective bargaining agreement and may differ from standard company benefits.QXO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
