The Inventory Control Administrator is a key position in the Company and will support and contribute to the company goals of profitability, return on investment, inventory turnover, and accident prevention. The Inventory Control Administrator, under limited general supervision, utilizing established guidelines and exercising independent judgment, manages inventory control process to support attainment of company financial goals and achieve maximum customer satisfaction.

Review and perform inventory cycle counts for accuracy of shipped product and received goods, monitor inventory variances and discrepancies and make recommendations for resolution of issues.Core Competencies for this position include:Leading Change/Change ManagementLeading People/TeamworkCommunicationBusiness AcumenResults DrivenEssential Functions of the Job:Focus, communicate, encourage and contribute to Safety in all aspects of the job and all company meetingsManage approximately $15 million of inventory to ensure the goal of maintaining cycle count variance goals is achievedManage inventory cycle count program to ensure that optimum customer satisfaction is achieved by minimizing out-of-stock situationsOversee and help to perform detailed and precise cycle counts of all locations in accordance with established guidelines to determine inventory accuracy and report findings to appropriate personnelGenerate daily cycle count reports for the cycle count teamEnsure inventory items are counted according to the Cycle Count Program following the ABC stratificationInvestigate negative inventory balances, determine root causes, influence corrective solutions and ensure inventory counts are correctedInvestigate inventory problems and potential inventory problems upon request from Purchasing, Manufacturing, Accounting, etc. and analyze problems to determine root causes. Make recommendations for corrective actionReview and approve all cycle counts for validity prior to adjustments in system. Ensure that recounts are performed when requiredSupervise daily operations of Cycle Counters. Conducts subordinates performance evaluations.

Review and recommend employees for promotions, merit raises, job assignments, etc.Perform monthly unit counts of whole goods with the manufacturing team at month end, working with management and individual team members to resolve any inventory issuesAudits pick side of order processing function by comparing pick accuracy to the customer order and reporting findings to the Warehouse Manager and Controller with recommendations for corrective actionAudits the entire receiving process to ensure accuracy, including monitoring vendor packing lists, comparing them to purchase orders, and verifying put-away accuracy through physical product location checksAudits accuracy of customer shipments by using customer service shipping error reports to investigate missed picks and long/short shipments, then reporting findings and recommendationsMonitors warehouse inventory locations to determine inventory status related to shrinkage, write-offs, adjustments back to inventory, etc., and reports findings to the Controller with recommendationsConducts daily interaction with hourly associates in carrying out assigned duties that may involve sensitive mattersSupervise cycle countersMaintain scheduled audits that are timely, accurate, and identify effective solutions to problems impacting customer satisfactionAct as lead point of contact for internal and external auditors involving cycle count and the reconciliation processAssist with physical inventories as requiredPerform all other duties assigned by SupervisorKnowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's): Excellent communication skills required, including verbal and writtenStrong analytical skills and ability to perform focused in-depth investigations to address a variety of issues and reach conclusions with findingsRequires strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization and address sensitive issues in a diplomatic natureProficient use of computers including report retrieval. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is essential. Knowledge of JD Edwards system is a plusAbility to work overtime, under pressure, and weekends/holidays as required Ability to operate standard office equipmentHold a valid Driver's LicenseAbility to organize and prioritize workload.Education and Experience:Bachelors Degree in Business or Accounting preferred3+ year's experience in warehouse or inventory control in a manufacturing environmentWorking Conditions:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
