BC/BE Interventional Cardiologist

The Mason City Clinic (MCC) in Mason City, Iowa has an excellent opportunity for a BC/BE Interventional Cardiologist to join the Cardiology department. The Mason City Clinic is a multi‑specialty physician‑owned group.

Opportunity Highlights

• Join the busy practice of 10 physicians, 10 fellows, and 7 NPs


• 1:3 call rotation with opportunity for excess call + $1,500 per diem; fellows taking 1st call


• Practice includes inpatient, outpatient, and diagnostic services


• Full range of cardiology services, including non‑invasive, invasive, interventional, and EP working together with cardiac surgery & vascular surgery services. Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) and cardioversions required.


• Growing structural heart center: established TAVR program, active LAAO/Watchman program, existing heart team infrastructure (CT surgery, imaging, anesthesia), registry participation (TVT, LAAO, NCDR)


• Training opportunity with Cardiology fellowship program


• Opportunities for outreach at one of our 10 critical access hospitals in our 14‑county network


• Primary service area—~300,000 people


• Located at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center—342‑bed regional referral teaching hospital


• Level II trauma center with 24/7 staffed ED and hospitalist services, helicopter, and state‑of‑the‑art cath labs

Package Details

• Competitive guaranteed base salary: $779,214/year + production (2‑year guaranteed base); excess call additional $30k/year


• $100,000 recruitment bonus

Qualifications

• BC/BE—Must be board certified within 3 years of becoming eligible


• H1B & J1 candidates encouraged to apply


• All offers contingent upon completion of references, background check, pre‑employment physical and drug screen


• Graduate of a medical/osteopathic medical school required


• Demonstrated competency as a physician through completion of an appropriate residency program


• Must be able to obtain Mercy Medical Center‑North Iowa medical staff privileges


• Above‑average communication skills


• Ability to work with a team


• Licensed or eligible for State of Iowa physician license; Iowa Controlled Substance Certificate and Federal DEA Certificate
