Carilion Medical Center, in collaboration with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, is seeking a dedicated Interventional Radiologist to join their team. This role emphasizes clinical care, professionalism, and service within a group that prioritizes patient well-being and collaborative efforts with medical and surgical colleagues. Practice Info

  • 100% IR Call split equally based on FTE between all physicians covering a single hospital.
  • PAs and one NPs cover inpatient consultations and select procedures.
  • Outpatient IR clinic with dedicated clinic staff and dedicated clinic time.
  • IR physicians share coverage of multiple oncology conferences.
  • Case mix includes TIPS, PAE, UAE BRTO, TACE, Y90, ablation, PE thrombectomy, IVC filter placement/retrieval, peripheral arteriograms, mesenteric stenting, biliary intervention, nephrostomy tubes, gastrostomy tubes, spine injections, biopsies, drains, venous access and others.
  • Established multidisciplinary PERT.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical care with a focus on professionalism and service.
  • Collaborate with medical and surgical colleagues.
  • Participate in shared call coverage.
  • Cover inpatient consultations and select procedures (with PA/NP support).
  • Manage an outpatient IR clinic.
  • Share coverage of multiple oncology conferences.
  • Perform a wide range of interventional radiology procedures including TIPS, PAE, UAE BRTO, TACE, Y90, ablation, PE thrombectomy, IVC filter placement/retrieval, peripheral arteriograms, mesenteric stenting, biliary intervention, nephrostomy tubes, gastrostomy tubes, spine injections, biopsies, drains, and venous access.
  • Potentially participate in research projects (optional).

Compensation

  • Min Starting Salary: $570,000
  • Max Starting Salary: $700,000
  • Eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary.
  • Incentive Pay: Base Salary plus opportunity for Bonus
  • Relocation Paid: Yes
  • This is a hospital employed group with $570,000 base salary and shared bonus opportunities based primarily on quality and system performance.
