Interventional Radiologist

Sutter Medical Group (SMG) is seeking a dedicated, fellowship-trained Interventional Radiologist to join a 12-physician IR team in the Greater Sacramento Area. This position offers a balanced clinical practice encompassing high-acuity hospital-based procedures across two major medical centers, two dedicated outpatient procedural centers, and daily dedicated IR clinics. Practice Info

• Specialty Distribution: 90% Interventional Radiology and 10% Vascular Diagnostic Imaging (CTA, MRA, and vascular ultrasound)
• Primary Location: Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento (SMCS) with associated Sacramento outpatient IR procedure suite and clinic
• Secondary Location: Occasional shared coverage at Sutter Roseville Medical Center (SRMC) and Roseville outpatient facility
• Outpatient Centers: Two dedicated, standalone IR clinics and procedure suites designed for outpatient interventions, consults, and follow-ups
• Hospital coverage includes a designated Level 2 Trauma Center with active planning toward Level 1 Trauma designation

Responsibilities

• Execute advanced and niche interventions including Interventional Oncology, Musculoskeletal Interventions, and Complex Vascular Care
• Perform core procedures such as biopsies, paracenteses, thoracenteses, drainage catheter placements, and vascular access
• Participate actively in in-person tumor boards with dedicated, protected time
• Manage inpatient workflow averaging 7 to 9 hospital-based outpatient procedures daily plus inpatient add-on requests
• Participate in outpatient workflow averaging approximately 1 clinic day and 1 dedicated outpatient procedure day per week
• Interpret vascular imaging scheduled approximately once every two weeks
• Engage in voluntary teaching and clinical mentoring opportunities associated with the planned launch of a Diagnostic Radiology Residency in 2027

Compensation

• $700,000 /Yr.
• $50,000 sign-on bonus

Shift & Schedule

• 1 to 3 hospital days per week
• Call Frequency: 1:12 primary call and 1:12 backup call
• 12 weeks of vacation backed by deep group coverage
