Key Responsibilities of the Interventional Radiology Technologist:
  • Assist physicians and the interventional radiology team during diagnostic and minimally invasive procedures
  • Prepare patients, equipment, instruments, and supplies before procedures
  • Operate and assist with fluoroscopy and other specialized imaging equipment
  • Maintain a sterile field and follow infection-control and radiation-safety protocols
  • Assist with procedures such as angiography, biopsies, drain placements, and vascular interventions
  • Monitor patients during procedures and communicate changes in condition to the clinical team
  • Prepare and maintain contrast media, supplies, and procedural equipment
  • Ensure accurate patient identification, documentation, and specimen handling
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain equipment according to department standards
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Interventional Radiology Technologist experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • ARRT certification/registration preferred or required according to facility requirements
  • Experience with fluoroscopy and interventional radiology procedures
  • Strong knowledge of sterile technique and radiation safety
  • Excellent patient-care, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment
