Interventional Pain Physician

Ochsner Health is seeking multiple BC/BE Anesthesiologists or PM&R Physicians, fellowship trained in Interventional Pain Management, to join their expanding Interventional Pain Medicine program in the Greater New Orleans area. This academic role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive interventional care in both outpatient and perioperative settings while participating in teaching and research. Practice Info

• Expanding Interventional Pain Medicine program in the Greater New Orleans area
• Outpatient as well as the perioperative setting
• Academic program with a fully accredited residency and pain fellowship program
• Component of the Department of Anesthesiology

Responsibilities

• Examine the health of a patient to help make proper diagnosis of clinical conditions and prescribing medication, treatments, and follow-up care as required.
• Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions.
• Provide care directly and indirectly by working with other members of an interdisciplinary team to formulate treatment plans.
• Timely record patient encounters in Electronic Health Record.
• Request further medical evaluations and make referrals, as necessary.
• Commit to collaboration with all members of the department to provide quality patient care.
• Ensure accurate coding of all patient visits.
• Comply with policies, procedures, bylaws, processes of privileging/credentialing, and standards of care that are conducive to the provision of high-quality medical services.

Qualifications

• Required: Board certified or eligible for certification in physician’s primary specialty
• Required: Licensed Practicing Provider MD/DO
• Required: Credentialed and willing to maintain clinical practice
• Preferred: Fellowship trained in Interventional Pain Management
• Preferred: Strong interest in chronic pain management
• Preferred: Willing to commit to teaching and/or research
