Emergency Solutions is recruiting an experienced Interventional/Diagnostic Radiologist for a long-term, hospital-based Radiology opportunity in Southwest Florida.
This position combines general diagnostic interpretation with interventional procedures while offering an attractive block schedule and no Medical Director or breast imaging responsibilities.
Compensation & Key Benefits
• $4,000 per 8-hour clinical day
• $50,000 Sign-On Bonus
• $30,000 Relocation Allowance
• $80,000 Total Sign-On & Relocation Package
• First 50 wRVUs per clinical day included in the guaranteed daily rate
• $45 per wRVU above 50 wRVUs
• 3% annual COLA applied to the clinical daily rate beginning on the first anniversary
• Travel and lodging provided/reimbursed
• Malpractice insurance provided/paid
• Tail coverage provided/paid
• $1 million per claim / $3 million aggregate
• Nighthawk coverage for overnight interpretations
• No breast imaging or mammography
• No Medical Director responsibilities
• Flexible block scheduling
• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off available
• Full-Time 1099 Independent Contractor

Flexible Schedule
We are open to developing a schedule that works for the right physician, including:
• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off
• Alternative block schedules
• Other mutually agreeable scheduling arrangements
• 8-hour clinical days
• Schedule structured around the clinical and operational needs of the Radiology Department
• Nighthawk handles overnight interpretations
• Travel and lodging provided/reimbursed
• Travel time and travel days are not compensated clinical days
Diagnostic Radiology Responsibilities
The physician will provide general diagnostic interpretation for the hospital and affiliated outpatient services, including:
• CT
• MRI
• X-ray
• Ultrasound
• Inpatient imaging
• Emergency Department imaging
• Outpatient imaging
• STAT and routine interpretations
• General diagnostic radiology
No breast imaging or mammography coverage required.
Interventional Radiology / Procedural Responsibilities
The physician should be comfortable performing general image-guided and interventional procedures appropriate for a hospital-based Radiology Department, which may include:
• Image-guided biopsies
• CT-guided biopsies and procedures
• Ultrasound-guided biopsies and procedures
• Paracentesis
• Thoracentesis
• Abscess and fluid drainage procedures
• Drain placement
• Central venous access procedures
• PICC line placement, when required
• Arthrograms and joint injections
• Other routine image-guided procedures within the physician's training, privileges, and scope of practice
The position is intended for a physician who can provide both general diagnostic interpretation and procedural/interventional coverage for the hospital.
Clinical Volume & Turnaround Expectations
• Approximately 3,000 studies annually
• Combination of inpatient, Emergency Department, and outpatient imaging
• STAT interpretation turnaround time: within 1 hour
• Routine studies completed within established departmental and hospital turnaround standards
Nighthawk provides overnight reading coverage
Technology & Workflow
• Hospital-based PACS
• Dragon Medical voice recognition/dictation
• Electronic workflow supporting inpatient, Emergency Department, and outpatient imaging
Qualifications
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology residency
• Appropriate training and demonstrated competency in interventional/image-guided procedures
• American Board of Radiology (ABR) Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain one
• Eligible for hospital medical staff privileges
• Eligible for Medicare, Medicaid, and applicable commercial payer enrollment
• Ability to successfully complete hospital credentialing and privileging
• Current BLS/ACLS certification if required for procedural privileges
• Current DEA registration if required for clinical responsibilities
• Must remain in good standing with applicable state and federal healthcare programs
Credentialing & Privileging
The selected physician will be required to successfully complete:
• Florida medical licensure, if not already licensed
• Hospital medical staff credentialing
• Diagnostic Radiology privileges
• Applicable Interventional Radiology/procedural privileges
• Payer enrollment as required
• Background and professional verification requirements
• Primary-source verification of education, training, board status, licensure, malpractice history, and professional references
Credentialing and privileging must be completed prior to the physician's clinical start date.

With nighthawk handling overnight interpretations, there are no breast imaging requirements and no Medical Director responsibilities, allowing the physician to focus on daytime diagnostic interpretations and interventional procedures.
