Interventional Cardiologist

An employer in California is seeking an Interventional Cardiologist for an 80-day assignment starting in early October. The provider will work two weeks per month, covering inpatient, call, outpatient clinic, and cath lab duties. This role offers an opportunity to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care in a supportive practice environment.

• Setting: Clinic and Call
• Staffing Mix: Full support staff and subspecialists on call/available 24/7, with strong inpatient nursing staff
• Annual volume includes approximately 370 diagnostic caths and 136 interventions
• Patient Volume: 8-12 in clinic; 2-4 emergency cases through ER weekly

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive interventional cardiology care, including inpatient, call, outpatient clinic, and cath lab coverage.
• Manage STEMI cases effectively.
• Participate in 24/7 Interventional Cardiology call.
• Handle General Cardiology call from Friday through Monday, including Echo, stress test, and EKG reads.
• Be onsite for stress tests, approximately 1-2 per weekend.
• Conduct procedures/cath lab duties on Mondays.
• Manage outpatient clinic on Tuesday through Friday, with patients scheduled every 30 minutes.
• Collaborate with two APPs for support during PCI procedures.

Shift & Schedule

• 80-day assignment starting in early October
• Work two weeks per month, ideally in 7-day stretches
• Covering clinic Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM, inpatient rounding on Mondays and Fridays, and 24-hour call from Friday to Monday
• Call Schedule: Out of house call; 24-hour call, Monday-Friday 8 AM–5 PM with weeknight/weekend call

Qualifications

• Board Certifications: Interventional Cardiology
• Required Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
