Practice Info

  • Practice is located at Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center.
  • Nuclear Medicine and Stress tests are available on site.
  • Cath Lab is available Monday-Friday.
  • STEMI coverage is available Monday-Friday.
  • Ancillary Services include Anesthesiology, Inpatient & Outpatient Surgery with a Cardiac Cath Lab, Diagnostic Testing (Echo, Vascular, Stress, Ultrasound, CT/x-ray/MRI, Nuc Med), Respiratory Therapy, Lab & Pathology, Outpatient Infusion Center, and Therapy Services (Cardiac Rehab, Diabetes Education, Pharmacy).
  • EPIC medical record system is utilized.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examinations.
  • Admit, evaluate, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages with acute and chronic coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndromes, and valvular heart disease.
  • Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization.
  • Perform the first 10 Cardiac Catheterization procedures at Sanford Medical Center under the supervision of the Medical Director of the Cath Lab or Physician Designee.
  • Meet with the Laser Safety Officer prior to scheduling the first case for providers requesting Laser Privileges to review safety & personnel precautions, scheduling criteria, and laser equipment.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Interventional Cardiology.
  • Successful completion of a hospital-affiliated Internal Medicine residency program of at least 3 years' duration.
  • Completion of a fellowship in Cardiology of at least 3 years' duration.
  • Successful completion of an additional 12 months of fellowship training in Interventional Cardiology.
  • All programs must be accredited by ACGME, American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • If not board certified at the time of application, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
  • H-1B and J-1 visa sponsorship available.
  • For applicants who have just completed a fellowship: provide fellowship log with a minimum of 250 therapeutic interventional cardiac procedures documented and a letter of reference from the fellowship director.
  • For applicants not applying directly out of a fellowship: provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where privileges are held showing clinical activity for the past 24 months, including numbers of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. For Interventional catheterization skills, provide documentation of 250 interventional procedures as the primary operator within the past 24 months and a letter of reference regarding competency from the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the institution where the applicant most recently practiced.
