Interventional Cardiologist

Sanford Health is seeking two BC/BE fellowship-trained Interventional Cardiologists to establish and grow a new Interventional Cardiology service line in Rapid City, South Dakota. This unique opportunity allows physicians to help define clinical strategy, referral development, and service growth while shaping the future of cardiovascular care across the region. The successful candidates will work closely with leadership and regional specialists to build a thriving interventional practice in a supportive environment.

Practice Info

• Clinical practice in the building phase will be approximately 50% General Cardiology and 50% Interventional Cardiology
• Existing cath lab in the Sanford Black Hills Surgical Hospital
• Imaging available includes MRI, CT, and Echo
• Inpatient consults at the Sanford Black Hills Surgical Hospital with low volume
• Transfer agreement in place to local hospital for cardio-thoracic surgery support if needed

Responsibilities

• Establish and grow a new Interventional Cardiology service line
• Work closely with Sanford Health leadership, referring providers, and regional specialists to build a thriving interventional practice
• Help define clinical strategy, referral development, and service growth
• Provide Interventional Cardiology services, including coronary and peripheral interventions based on training and experience
• Participate in call coverage
