Interventional Cardiologist

CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico in Alamogordo is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Interventional Cardiologist to join our growing cardiology team. This full-time, permanent position is designed to expand access to interventional cardiac care and reduce patient transfers for procedures. The incoming physician will have access to a fully equipped cardiac cath lab, modern hospital resources, and a supportive clinical team.

Practice Info

• Fully equipped cardiac cath lab
• Clinic volume: 20–25 patients/day preferred
• Annual cath/angio volume: ~500 cases
• EMR systems: EPIC
• 100-bed, not-for-profit acute care hospital

Responsibilities

• Perform coronary angioplasty and stent placement
• Perform right and left heart catheterization
• Perform diagnostic coronary angiography
• Perform pacemaker and AICD insertions
• Perform generator changes and lead revisions
• Perform loop recorder insertions and removals
• Read stress tests and echocardiograms

Compensation

• Base plus model with $900k+ earning potential
• Sign-on bonus up to $100,000

Shift & Schedule

• Full-time position
• Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Cath lab access: Procedures begin at 6:30 AM, clinic starts at 10:00 AM
• Shared call expected

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible Interventional Cardiologist
• Fellowship-trained in Interventional Cardiology
• Must possess an unrestricted New Mexico Medical License or be eligible to be licensed in the state of New Mexico
• Preferably experienced
