Interventional Cardiologist

CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico in Alamogordo, NM, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Interventional Cardiologist to join their expanding cardiology team. This full-time, permanent position aims to enhance access to interventional cardiac care and minimize patient transfers. The incoming physician will benefit from a fully equipped cardiac cath lab, modern hospital resources, and a supportive clinical team.

Practice Info

• Full-time position
• Clinic volume: 20–25 patients/day preferred
• Annual cath/angio volume: ~500 cases
• EMR systems: GEMMS One (clinic), Cerner & Change Healthcare (hospital); transitioning to Epic in March 2026
• CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico is a 100-bed, not-for-profit acute care hospital and part of CHRISTUS Health.
• The hospital serves as the primary medical center for Otero County and surrounding communities.

Responsibilities

• Perform coronary angioplasty and stent placement
• Perform right and left heart catheterization
• Perform diagnostic coronary angiography
• Perform pacemaker and AICD insertions
• Perform generator changes and lead revisions
• Perform loop recorder insertions/removals
• Conduct stress test and echocardiogram readings
• Shared call coverage

• Base plus model!
• $900k+ earning potential

Shift & Schedule

• Monday – Thursday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Cath lab access: Procedures begin at 6:30 AM, clinic starts at 10:00 AM
• Shared call expected

Requirements

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Interventional Cardiology
• Fellowship-trained in Interventional Cardiology
• Must also possess an unrestricted New Mexico Medical License or be eligible to be licensed in the state of New Mexico
• Preferably experienced
