Substitute Intervention Specialist Position
Grade 8 November 2026-January 2027 The Substitute Intervention Specialist will design and implement individualized instruction for children with disabilities. Intervention Specialists will utilize Struthers City Schools K-12 Continuum of Service model, and will embrace an inclusion-based co-teaching framework of collaboration to support students.
Duties:
- Assess children's individual needs and collects data as evidence of growth or need for adjustment collaborating with all IEP team members when designing individualized programs.
- Collaborates with teachers and other parties to ensure student needs are met in the areas of academic instruction and social-emotional needs.
- Ensures students are supervised and safe in classrooms and other settings at all times.
- Employs suitable classroom management techniques, and individualized behavior plans that promote positive behavior.
- Keeps evidence of specially designed instruction, IEP goals, and intervention data.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in special education and a valid Intervention Specialist License from the Ohio Department of Education in the area/grade level of instructional support being provided. Successful completion of BCI and FBI background check.
