Join a Dedicated Special Education Team
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Intervention Specialist / Special Education Teacher to support middle school students in a school-based setting in Columbus, Ohio. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction, academic support, and individualized educational services to students with diverse learning needs.
The Special Education Teacher works closely with the Special Education Program Administrator, general education teachers, and support staff to implement student programs, deliver specialized instruction, and promote student success both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities

Provide individualized instruction and support to middle school students receiving special education services.

Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Collaborate with general education teachers to support student achievement in inclusive settings.

Deliver specialized instruction and instructional accommodations.

Maintain accurate documentation and progress monitoring records.

Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.

Foster a positive, supportive, and structured learning environment.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local special education regulations.

Qualifications
Required
-
Valid Ohio teaching certification/licensure as required by state and district regulations.

Ability to meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements.

Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred
-
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.

Minimum of one year of teaching experience.

Standard Elementary Teaching Certification.

Standard Secondary Teaching Certification.

Standard Special Education Teaching Certification.
-
Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) Endorsement.

Current CPR Certification, if applicable.

Current Health Certificate, if applicable.
-
TB Questionnaire, PPD, or Chest X-Ray, if required.
Compensation

Pay Rate: $53.00 per hour
