Internist (Internal Medicine Physician)The Internist (Internal Medicine Physician) will function as one of the primary medical services providers for Mary's Center, and is responsible for initiating assessment, diagnosis, and the implementation of a range of care interventions for patients presenting with undifferentiated and undiagnosed health problems. Be able to evaluate the effectiveness of various treatment modalities and referrals through autonomous and accountable decisions in medical practice supported by current research. This position is open at our Maryland and Washington D.C. clinics.$15,000 Sign-On Bonus AvailableMary's Center is pleased to offer a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 for eligible Family Medicine and Internal Medicine Physicians. The bonus is paid in multiple installments designed to reward both joining our team and continued service.

Terms and conditions apply.This position will report directly to the Administrative Medical Director. They shall work collaboratively with their respective clinical lead(s). Annually, the clinician is evaluated on clinical competency by the Site Medical Director or their proxies (Associate Medical Director and/or Clinical Lead).To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Provide comprehensive quality primary wellness and sick care to Mary's Center adult patients in an efficient mannerCollaborate with Mary's Center and external healthcare providers as necessary to make appropriate medical decisionsCoordinate the transferring of patients to emergency facility and arrange for hospitalization as neededPractice medicine within quality standards such as HEDISCoordinate for sub-specialty care with the nursing and social work staffProvide consultation and education to patients and/or parents and staff to increase the quality of patient careProvide guidance and assistance to medical assistantsPerform routine professional duties (complete and lock medical notes, address labs, respond to telephone encounters and correct billing claims) in an efficient and well-organized manner per Mary's Center policy.Perform routine medical administrative duties in an efficient, well-organized mannerParticipate in various team and provider meetingsParticipate in projects and/or policy initiatives for Mary's Center and its communityParticipate in Saturday and evening clinic sessions as neededParticipate in the on-call rotation as appropriate for specialtyParticipate in inter-departmental meetings as neededParticipate in Mary's Center Continuous Quality Improvement PlanPerform other duties determined as necessary by the Administrative Medical Director and EVP of Medicine, or their delegatesThe requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Ability to communicate effectively in at least one language commonly spoken by participants served by the program (e.g., Spanish or Amharic) is strongly preferred or required based on role assignment and program needs.Education and/or Experience – Must possess a M.D.

or D.O. degree and a current license to practice Medicine in the District of Columbia and/or Maryland. Board Certification in Internal Medicine preferable. A minimum of two (2) years of practicing medicine in a community health clinic environment and/or experience in working with immigrant or economically disadvantaged populations highly desirable. A thorough understanding and knowledge of patient confidentiality issues and HIPAA compliance/regulations are essential.

Bilingualism in Spanish and English strongly preferred.Physical Demands – Regularly required to sit; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear; must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.Work Environment – Mostly in a typical clinical office setting with quiet to moderate noise level; a percentage of clinical care may be provided remotely depending on scheduling needs.
