Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking an Internal Medicine physician to join their multi-specialty clinic in Houston. This role involves providing comprehensive care to adult patients, focusing on disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. The physician will be part of a nationally recognized team dedicated to delivering coordinated and accountable care, with access to extensive sub-specialist support and advanced medical technology.

Practice Info

  • Multi-specialty clinic with 1000+ medical providers in 65 medical specialties
  • Full access to several sub-specialists, imaging, lab services, and patient education within the Kelsey-Seybold system
  • Uses EPIC electronic health record for patient care
  • Internal Medicine physicians are supported by nursing and administrative staff
  • Periodic hospital call admitting only Kelsey-Seybold patients
  • Certain call groups have nocturnists managing admissions overnight

Responsibilities

  • Examine adult patients 18 years and older
  • Ensure proper care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of various medical conditions
  • Order medically necessary tests
  • Perform follow-up visits
  • Place referrals to specialists when needed
  • Interpret basic medical tests and imaging in planning care for patients
  • Take periodic hospital call

Compensation

  • Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $238,500 - $392,500
  • Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus
  • Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role

Shift & Schedule

  • See patients in office from 8am-5pm Monday through Friday
  • Typically not required to stay overnight in hospitals

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved training program in the United States
  • Licensed in the State of Texas
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
