Position OverviewShe Recruits is partnering with a respected inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, to recruit a Rehab Medical Director for an exciting leadership opportunity within a growing rehabilitation program.
This position offers an excellent balance of clinical practice and medical leadership, allowing physicians to focus on rehabilitation medicine while collaborating closely with an experienced interdisciplinary team. The Medical Director will oversee rehabilitation-specific aspects of patient care, including pain management, bowel and bladder programs, therapy oversight, and rehabilitation documentation, while dedicated hospitalists manage the patients' general medical needs.
The current rehabilitation unit has a capacity of 10 beds with plans for expansion to a 26-bed program, making this an excellent opportunity to help shape the future of a growing rehabilitation service.

Serve as the Medical Director for the inpatient rehabilitation program
Conduct rehabilitation-focused patient evaluations and follow-up visits
Perform three face-to-face patient visits weekly for each rehabilitation patient
Review and approve pre-admission rehabilitation screening criteria
Attend interdisciplinary team conferences
Document rehabilitation necessity and regulatory requirements
Oversee rehabilitation care plans, including pain management, bowel and bladder programs, and therapy progression
Collaborate with hospitalists, therapists, nursing staff, and case management to optimize patient outcomes
Support quality improvement initiatives and program development as the rehabilitation unit expands
Board Certified or Board Eligible in:
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
Internal Medicine
Family Medicine
Experience caring for inpatient rehabilitation patients
Strong interest in rehabilitation medicine and interdisciplinary care
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Wisconsin medical license or ability to obtain
Previous Medical Director or physician leadership experience
Inpatient rehabilitation experience
Experience working with interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams
4 Days Per Week: $120,000 Annual Stipend
3 Days Per Week: $100,000 Annual Stipend
Additional compensation is paid for patient encounters:
New Admissions (Level 3): $95 per encounter
New Admissions (Level 2): $75 per encounter
Follow-Up Visits: $50 per encounter
Telemedicine Visits: $40 per encounter
Typical annual productivity earnings range from $85,000 $100,000 , bringing total annual compensation to approximately $200,000 for a physician working four onsite days per week.
Additional OpportunitiesPhysicians interested in additional income may also pick up shifts at a nearby inpatient rehabilitation hospital located approximately 45 minutes from Green Bay .
Additional shifts include:
Approximately 5 6 onsite hours
$1,350 per shift
Medical malpractice coverage (occurrence-based)
Credentialing provided
Billing services provided
Medical Director portion of the role offered as an employed position with eligible benefits
Clinical rounding and additional shifts may be structured as an independent contractor arrangement
