Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join their growing team at Sanford Health Clinic in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. This role offers the opportunity to work within an established two-physician practice, providing comprehensive care to adolescent and adult patients. Practice Info
- Established two-physician practice along with three nurse practitioners.
- Provides geriatrics services at local long-term care and assisted living facilities.
- Multi-specialty group practice including audiology, behavioral health, dermatology, family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedics, podiatry, surgery, urology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and outreach specialties from Fargo.
- Hospitalist program at hospital.
Responsibilities
- Perform history and physical examinations.
- Admit (if applicable to the setting).
- Evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultative services to adolescent and adult patients with common and complex illness, diseases and functional disorders of the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, and genitourinary systems.

Shift & Schedule
- Clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8:00am -5:00pm.
- Option to work 4 or 5 days a week with flexibility on start and end times.
- Call expectation is 7 weekends a year and 1 day per week mainly for clinic call.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
- Experience can be demonstrated by providing residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations (for recent graduates).
- Experience can be demonstrated by providing a quality profile from hospital(s) where privileges are held, showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including number of procedures performed, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications (for those not applying directly out of residency).
- Must be able to demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services to be at least 50 patients in the last 12 months (for those not applying directly out of residency).
- If a quality profile is not available, documentation of clinical activity for the last 12 months is required, demonstrating active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months.
- More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.
