Internal Medicine Physician – Outpatient Primary Care

Location: Knoxville, Tennessee

Provider role: Monday–Friday outpatient primary care with 100% outpatient schedule. Low call volume shared among providers, telephone only. Estimated patient volume 18–22 per day. PA and NP support staff available.

Responsibilities

• Assess, maintain, and improve the health status of individuals in the communities served through timely access to evidence based acute, preventive, and chronic disease care.
• Serve as a role model of professionalism to all members of the interdisciplinary health care team.
• Collaborate with all other practitioners and clinical support staff to form a high performing team.
• Provide high value care; demonstrate good stewardship of resources by limiting unnecessary testing and referrals; and consider risks, benefits, and patient preferences when making diagnostic or therapeutic intervention decisions.
• Document all patient care activities and services provided in the electronic health record with clarity, conciseness, accuracy, and sufficient detail to allow another provider to continue the patient’s care and for other parties to review quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine.
• Unrestricted state of Tennessee MD or DO licensure.
