Job Summary: A Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is an advanced practice registered nurse who provides comprehensive primary care across all ages, focusing on diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and patient education. They often serve as independent primary care providers, especially in areas with physician shortages.
Job Duties:
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and obtain detailed medical histories.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Prescribe medications and treatments as necessary.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Provide health education to patients and their families.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
• Document patient information and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research.
Skills:
• Ability to evaluate complex symptom presentations, interpret diagnostic data, and make safe, effective medical decisions.
• Compassion for patients and the ability to lead care teams or independently guide patients through difficult health journeys.
Required Documents:
• Active Nurse practitioner license.
