Internal Medicine Hospitalist

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a dedicated Nocturnal Hospitalist to join its Hospitalist Program. This role involves providing specialized, efficient, and coordinated care for hospitalized patients, primarily focusing on ER calls and patient admissions during night shifts. The successful candidate will contribute to a team nationally recognized for delivering high-quality, coordinated care across 40+ locations in Houston.

• Multi-specialty clinic with more than 900 medical providers in 65 medical specialties
• Hospitalist Program provides specialized, efficient, and coordinated care for hospitalized patients
• The nocturnal hospitalist will be required to stay in house for the duration of the shift
• Responsible for all calls regarding admissions to Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center
• The nocturnal hospitalist will not be the primary on Kelsey-Seybold patients admitted to the intensive care units at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center

Responsibilities

• Respond to ER calls and admit patients in the assigned hospital(s)
• Observe patient's status, progress, and test results up to several times, as needed
• Efficiently manage patients in hospital and interact with specialists to coordinate care
• Transition the follow-up care to the daytime hospitalist safely and effectively
• Participate in hospital committees, initiatives, and KSC Hospital Service/IM Department activities

Compensation

• Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $125 to $186.86 per hour
• Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus
• Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role

Shift & Schedule

• 7pm to 7am (number of shifts can be decided amongst the team to ensure coverage every night)
