Intermediate Environmental EngineerWSP is seeking a dedicated Intermediate Environmental Engineer with 3-5 years' experience for its Portland, Maine office. The position will involve environmental remediation including, but not limited to remedial design of treatment systems, report preparation, submittal reviews, support for water and wastewater permitting and compliance activities, contamination assessment, construction, and operation and maintenance support.This position offers the opportunity to work with a large and diverse team of design engineers to address complex environmental challenges executing the following roles/responsibilities:Prepare work plans, sampling and analysis plans, feasibility studies, and remedial action plansPrepare environmental permit applications (e.g., air permitting, wastewater discharge permitting, etc.)Prepare CERCLA and or RCRA engineering evaluations, feasibility studies, treatment systems designs, and develop cost estimatesPrepare and/or review design drawings and specificationsReview and comment on contractor submittalsTrack subcontractor payment applications, requests for information, change order requests and general construction phase submittalsAssist with mentorship and growth of staffRequired Qualifications:BS in Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering3 to 5 years of engineering/consulting experience with a focus on remedial design including water treatment, soil vapor extraction and treatment, in-situ remediationEngineer in Training CertificationHighly capable self-leadership with attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skillsDemonstrated professional judgment, critical thinking, problem solving skills and time management skillsStrong computer skills and organizational abilitiesAbility and willingness to travel to project sites. Occasional extended travel up to two weeks is possibleHave and maintain a valid driver's license, work outdoors in various weather conditions and frequently lift up to 35 poundsAdaptability and willingness to adjust to client needsMust pass physical, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policyPreferred Qualifications:MS in Environmental, Civil or chemical EngineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) certificationExperience preparing engineering designs for in-situ remediation projects as well as groundwater and vapor extraction and treatment systemsExperience in preparing cost estimates40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER TrainingAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamSelf-starter and lifelong learnerWSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on providing health and financial stability throughout the employee's career. Compensation: Expected Salary (all locations): $82,400 - $105,300
