Our 32-bed, stroke-certified Intermediate Care Unit cares for a diverse patient population with a strong focus on cardiac care, providing valuable experience with cardiac stents, stable cardiac events, step-down titrated drips, and select medical overflow patients. With a typical 4-5 patient ratio , nurses have the opportunity to strengthen critical thinking skills, expand their clinical knowledge, and make a meaningful impact every day.

Overview
Since 1937, Alton Memorial Hospital has cared for residents in Alton, Illinois, and the surrounding communities in a five-county area. Starting as a land gift to the community from the Smith family, Alton Memorial today is a full-service acute care hospital. Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more.
The telemetry unit is a 32 bed unit, with all private rooms. Patients are under continuous cardiac monitoring with clinical conditions that need closer observation and care.
